There is a lot of discussion on here regarding downloading the latest software and the benefits of doing so. Many make reference to their boxes going 'bang' becuase they have not downloaded.

Out of interest for all I think it would be interesting to establish from users the following.

a) How long has you box been working for
b) Do you update the firmware as it is released

On the assumption more than a handful respond I'll work out some stats for all to make there own minds up.

Simply answer a) time and b) if you update.

only had my box a couple of weeks

but i've installed the latest firmware all seems fine so far

Have had my box 3 weeks today from today (preloaded with July firmware).
I updated straight away.

Box is 3 months old and works perfectly...

Definitely not updating using dubious software download ...

Same as telecom69 ~ I have one of the 1st batch of black boxes & it's working OK ~ ain't going to update unless I really have to.

if box is working fine i would not risk a firware upgrade :-) but i maybe a chicken

flahed box with feb o7 firmware few months ago. not bothering with july update.

Dbox2; Nov 06 according to a couple of files in Flashfxp. Commando 6 W-o-D, done a couple of rescans, but that's about it. Had box three years in Jan, only put about four or five different images on.
