Hi all,
I am reasonably new to all this and have a Nokia Dbox2. In my wisdom i tried updating the sportster image via flash ftp as i could not get to y-web in anyway. The problem is i think i tried putting the image in the wrong place and now when i boot up i just get the sportster page and the dbox2 screen says loading kernel. This just hangs there and i cannot do anything...... Does anybody have any help for me please? Many thanks Phil |

That's unusual - normally a bad flash will result in keine image. You may have to use IFA (Image Flash Assistant) to reflash an image onto the box

To use IFA you need to physically connect your Dbox directly to a computer via crossover ethernet cable and a null modem cable.
IFA should be a breeze to use - but if it doesn't work as it should then it's a case of mixing black magic and blind faith to make it function. |

It is normal for IFA NOT to be able to ping the Dbox so don't worry.
I believe using an RS232 enables the output from the Dbox to be viewed on your laptop / pc. You will most likely need a USB - UART connection as modern laptops don't have serial ports anymore. |
