Hi. Wondering if someone can help. I'm not clued up with the latest cable or Sat technology. Basically Prison Break has been snatched from Channel 5 and put on Sky One (grossly unfair!). I currently have Freeview. I am also subscribed to Virgin phone and broadband and could easily sign up for the TV service too, but the only problem is Virgin are in a court battle with Sky who withdrew basic Sky channels, so they are not broadcasting it at the moment. People have suggested a Eurovox box to me which ordinarily would have worked, but Virgin are having the above problem.
It would be a little ridiculous to subscribe to Sky just for one programme, and already having Freeview too. Also I would need a BT line anyway which would mean cancelling a whole load of stuff. Not worth it. Having done some research on the internet and a few people making suggestions, I've tried Frostwire and uTorrent etc but I don't understand that technology either so it doesn't seem to work for me. Also there seems to be software out there that will allow me to watch satellite on my laptop, although I don't know how reliable this is. I'm looking for a solution, anyone! Thanks for listening anyway. |

You can get the programs off file sharing sites using something like uTorrent, but would need a link to an open tracker.
Probably easiest is to use internet newsgroups or Usenet, there are tutorials on various sites including NewsBin NNTP Usenet Binary Newsgroup Robot and Newzbin - Usenet Search although you may have to subscribe to a premium server as NTL's server has gone to pot, TW's is much better if you are in an ex TW area. |

The torrent stuff seems complicated at first but if you read through the various FAQs on the sites it all becomes pretty clear. Fundamentally you need to install a client on your computer and then there are various complicated things you can do to speed up your downloads. I'm rubbish with computers but after reading through loads of bumph my torrents download in less time than they take to watch. (I also have telewest btw)
