Just posted something in Announcements & Feedback:
http://www.techwatch.co.uk/site-anno...-downtime.html Basically, an ad script screwed up and crippled the entire site, so I've removed the ads from the right hand column. Unfortunately, I wasn't aware that the site was down yesterday until a routine look at traffic stats this morning, which showed Techwatch had gone screwy. Again, my apologies for that. |

thanks Brian was it a new add or an old one? just i seen recently were a certain site was compromised, and the owner thinks they got in through a door in an advertisement banner, just be careful.

It was actually an old set of ads we've been running for ages. It's just that inexplicable something's happened that means they can't now be called up into Techwatch, and that error caused the entire site to freeze up.
It goes without saying these ads are going to stay off until I'm satisfied of no further issues. ![]() I know it was only 1 day, but IMO 1 hour is too long to have a site like this offline.
