as i have no serial port on my pc m/bd will a convertor like the above work??? need to update my e/vox??

Yes it will - am in the same boat as you, lots of USB ports but no serial ports. The convertor works perfectly

just bought the convertor today along with ma cable thought i'd made an ass of it and wasted money, lol

Hi graham here i am new to this so please forgive any mistakes, I too do not have a serial connection on my laptop so went to Maplins and purchased a RS232 to USB converter lead, tried to update my Eurovox V but all i got was the message `waiting for response from receiver` so it appears that i have to use a null modem cable, anybody got any idea how to get round this. Cheers

You need a USB to serial converter AND a null modem cable.
