Your only problem is the fact that you are using a DB25 to usb adaptor. As per your Skymax ID code this indicates that you are not connecting to the box. It will never work with that connection.

You need to use the parallel port of your pc, (use another pc, are you sure you dont have a parallel port?) also check that the port is set to EPP with an IRQ of 378 you can do this in the bios. You can use an old printer cable and connect it to the jtag and then to the eurovox, although I would recommend using the jtag directly it will be quite tight but will work.

Also note your chipset as per a previous post there are two different methods one for Intel (Jkeys) and another for Omega (Skymax or Jkeys but using a different method).

Probably shoulda just bought a new box but what the hell I'd miss out on so much fun tinkering with my toys (sad or what) -

I have just ordered 2 PCI cards, one for Parallel Port (to JTAG) and one for Serial Port (just for the hell of it as am currently using adaptor for this too).

Delivery will take 7-10 working days and then I'll let you know how I get on

Finally . . .

Got my PCI cards 2day and installed the Parallel Port card but . . (nothing will ever be easy for me)

how on earth do I change the Parallel Port setting in my BIOS. Have a Dell PC running on Windows XP.

Only guide I found on WWW was Enter BIOS to the Advanced > Periperal Config and set Mode. Problem is ain't no Advanced option.

Guess I need some hand-holding

Am in hysterics - don't know whether to laugh or cry.

After all my hard work - the Dell desktop I have (Dimension 5150) does not support changing the Parallel Port Mode within the BIOS and only supports Uni-directional communication.

Can't JTAG box with my PC!!! In fairness to DELL they are taking back the PCI card and giving me full refund.

At least I have bought a black box to use instead. LOL
