Now that VM cap your service how does this effect flashing your modem and getting the 20mb donwload. I assume that VM use the MAC address to limit your downloads and track your useage.
Can anyone explain how this works? |

This sucks. I pay for a ****ing unmetered download service and i expect to get an unmetered download service. Thats why i pay £18 a month for 2MB bb instead of getting an metered serivce for £15 and up to 8mb speed. Thanks brian for the info.

I've been wondering the same thing for the last few days, it will be interesting to see the answer to this. VM claim that it only effects a small percentage of users but the internet is full of people complaining about this, surely they can't all be in the top 4% of usage. It is just a cost cutting measure at the expense of their customers and explains why my connection is so slow most of the time. Time to get a patched modem I think, at least it wouldn't bother me so much if I wasn't paying full price for thier service.

Computer Active did a independent survey about broadband speeds, see here Crystal Clear Broadband - Campaigning for a fairer deal for consumers - Computeractive
Starting a campaign about advertised speeds. |
