Default picture freezing

The picture with my pace 4001 box has started freezing badly(all channels), i have checked the connection at the back(and tested my other box) and that's fine? just wondering if it might be the simm inside the box, would that cause picture breaking up and freezing?

yes the simm can do that make sure its pushed right in and clean
