Default poor signal on 6.887 and 6.952, eurovox max 5

hello,

must say first what an excellent site this is - so much good info

been scouring these threads for hours and tried most thing but to no avail.

got a eurovox max v last week, set it on 6.887 scanned and worked fine till yesterday when it started to pixelate and sound chirp.

tryed scanning again, but there's not a good signal strength on either 6887 or 6952 (red 8-25 only, used to get 80), it gets all the channels but most break up when seleccted.

if i plug my samsung smt-2110c (ex n*l) in it works fine but only gets the freeview channels??

Thinking that the box if knacked - the warranty seal was already broken when received from the ebay seller and a big yellow sticker was put over the top, the seller is not interested now he has my money and has not replied to any of my emails.

can anyone help please.

cheers andy

I had a similar problem with a box the signal strengh was droping till it hit 8%,all was fine to start with it was at 84% but the longer the box was on the lower signal

press info on your remote to get the signal strenght and once it starts to break up check the info again

sorry i have no help for you but i managed to return this box as faulty, where you advised of the box having no warranty

Firstly have to ask do you have a current subscription to a cable company ?because if not you are in a pray and hope for situation as to how good your signal is going to be ...I would suggest that you email your seller once again and inform him of your intentions about making complaints about him to Ebay/Paypal and see if that spurs him into action ...what was his feedback like anyway ?

hello,
cable subscription has finished, but cable has been left 'on' to use the box basically as a freeview, the samsung cable box still picks the free ones up and are beautifully clear,
the sellers feedback is very good - going to give him another hour to see if he replies, cheers andy

I find it strange that they havent taken the box back, now your subscription has ended, thats what happens in the area in which I live, and depending on how the engineer feels when they call to remove they sometimes disconnect everything in the box on the wall outside....I suspect though that the reason for your problems are that the cable is not delivering signals like a subscribed cable would...

tried scanning again but only got 8 on both 6887 and 6952, then suddenly it went to 80+ on 6887 ,power scanned and got all 300+ channels with no break up????

still think the box has an intermittant fault, unless anyone else has an explanation for it.

we got to keep the old box to use as freeview as we still have broadband with them.

if you have a faulty tuner then it will not scan or have missing channels or it will be ok and start to break up when it gets hot .
best let everyone know the ebay seller who is giveing you problems so others know to stay away from him but can
