Eurovox Nightmare

Can anyone help me??

I came on to this site looking for help with my Eurovox Max V3 which was rebooting and ending up with a green screen.

I was advised that I should update the firmware and told which one would do, it was the june 07 version.

I used the software to install this and then my box stuck in standby as aparently I had been told the wrong firmware and I should have used the feb version instead and now I had to JTAG my box to get it out of standby.

I went and bought the correct JTAG for £17.50 and tried to unlock box but it gave me "failed DCU" error when I used skymax program.

Now I have read that I have to use JKEYS program to unluck my box.

Problem now is:

When I follow the instructions it says connect eurovox then open JKEYS software, no problem. But then it says click on "development panel", but this is greyed out and not active.

I do not know if I am connected as the software says in JTAG info box "Device ID = 0x00000000" and then "Unknown Device"

I am connected via LPT1 on my laptop straight onto JTAG

Can anyone help??

I can give you my mobile number or even send the unit to you, for a fee obviously, but I just want this unit fixed and this wild goose chase to end!!

I have screen dumps of each error if required

What version of Jkeys are you using, I use Version 1.3.3 (Build 106).

When I open the program I click on "Tools" - "Get Device ID" (if an error comes up here I switch back to Skymax and click "Connection - Start", close Skymax and try Jkeys again).
Next step is to click on the "Flash Tools" button then "OK"

Now you can "Erase Flash" and "Write Flash". All going well you now have to switch off then on the eurovox, this will now show 1200 in the display.

Eurovox nightmare now over.

Done a box to box transfer which took my eurovox out of standby.

Then I was able to send feb 07 firmware and all my saved channels.

Now working great with new EPG
