Can anyone recommend AVG security software or something better? I'm after virus protection and all the malware protection stuff too. Believe it or not I've only just realised Norton & McAfee are cr*p.

Hiya funkster
![]() Have you been using Norton ? "McAfee you can just uninstall in add & remove in Windows" but this is not the case with Norton, you need to use the Norton removal tool or you will have problems, the Norton removal tool is made by Symantec the makers of Norton and you can download it free >>> Here, as for AVG free and Pro there has been a few posts on some Tech Forums that AVG has been having some false positives showing recently, so do check your scan results before you delete or quarantine a positive result. Please Note >>> AVG cries wolf Cindy ![]()

for av i use eset nod32 way way better than norton
![]() they are also doing a full security suite that is at rc1 stage at the moment it's on a couple of the comps here and seems pretty good and stable just not going on mine yet ![]() it should be due for release soon (i hope), if it's anywhere near as good as the av then it will be a winner ![]() |

Thanks for the comments, nod32 seems pretty well supported here.

I appreciate the info Cindy. The review dates back to Feb 2006 but I take your point .. time to do some more searching.
Btw, nod32 gets a good write up on another forum I use. Last edited by funkster; 03-10-07 at 06:34 PM. |
