Default recommend a good mouse

hi
my mouse just died on me after only 7 years of use the left microswitch has gone so time for a new 1 i think.
can anyone recommend a good quality mouse mainly for gaming etc.. ie games like enemy territory and the new quake wars.
i don't use a mouse mat just my desk so an optical or laser would be good.
just using a borrowed microsoft optical but not too impressed seems slower than my old mouse
thanks

grizz

Hi grizz

I Game and i use a Razer Death Adder and i think its the best Mouse Ive used !

Spec - 1800dpi infrared sensor - ergonomic right-handed design - 1000Hz ultrapolling - 1Ms response - 5 programmable, ultral-large non-slip buttons with hyperesponse - 16-bit ultra-wide data channel - award-winning on-the-fly sensitivity drivers, and its a very fast mouse !

ok ordered a deathadder from the us was cheaper than here even with post
that and theres no good comp shops around here...or much of anything else around here come to think of it
i'll give my opinion of it when i try a few games, will take some getting used to i think.

I know you've ordered that death adder but if anyone else comes in here looking for a mouse i'd recommend the Logitech mx518.

There is a review of it on trustedreviews.com where it got 9/10

It's currently what I use and i cant see me changing it until it breaks, and then i'll probably get the same again.

ok mouse just arrived
1st impressions so far old mouse speed was like a lada this 1 is like a ferrari
as soon as i plugged it in the speed was fast even before driver install.
just gonna give it a test drive on a few games see how it goes
not used to more than 2 buttons so will take some time
