Default Internet Explorer Slow.

recently my internet explorer was starting to get slow . i would click on it to open it up and it would take at the most 15-20mins before i was able to start browsing the internet and when it eventually does let me start browsing if i click on a link that opens up a new window the new windows would crash for about the same lenght of time before i can browse through it. i can browse the internet perfectly on Ares p2p which has built in explorer support and i can also browse without any problems if i click my computer and type in a website on the address bar at the top . i just cant browse through internet explorer itself i am using version 6 and i tried upgrading to ie7 but that didnt solve the issue as a matter of fact when my ie does eventually let me browse it says Windows Internet Explorer Provided By Yahoo correct me if i am wrong but shouldnt ie only have that if u use ie7? i searched around on google for ways to repair or reinstall ie6 but the sites i came up with said that i must have the Windows XP CD-ROM available which i dont. i know there are other explorers such as Firefox but i have always been comfortable with ie so if anyone knows what is wrong it i would like to know if there is a way to fix it without the XP CD-ROM.

Default Re: Internet Explorer Slow.

Hi red devil

From reading your post "if you want to use IE7" you should be able to roll back to IE6 by using Windows "add and remove utility" then i suggest installing EI7 (this needs to be installed in Safe Mode from your desktop) if you are unsure of the procedure please post back and i will be happy to go through it step by step so you achieve a clean install of IE7, also we can check for any singes of a possible hijack / ad aware / spy ware.
