dont be tempted by large amounts of mega pixels or a great massive digital zoom
what a camera has to have is large optical zoom and great optics, go for a big name brand as these usually have a reputation to uphold. for £200 you can for a panasonic lumix fz range or a decent kodak z770 i will have more info for you later |

Cindy.
The FZ7 would be a good choice, see if you can push for the FZ10, The panasonic FZ range are an amazing range of cameras, with a wide telephoto lens, I had heard some of the pros mention that these are the next best thing after SLR/DSLR. I am currently negotiating the price of a sony DSC-H3, But if you want a proper review on cameras then go to Steve's Digicams - Camera Reviews |

Connecting to your PC shouldn't be a problem - they usually come with their own USB cable and image software, so it's as simple as plug and play - unlike video camcorders where you can require a Firewire card in the PC.
