Hello All
Im a new member and would ask for your help please. I have a Eurovox 3 Red Box which was working fine until last week. I tried to do a power scan and basically lost all channels. Currently when I try an auto scan I get "No transponder to scan" message. I have reset the factory settings and have re flashed my box with 15_03_2007 level software but end up with the same results. I am lost as to what to try next. Can anyone offer any advice? |

that version of firmware 15/03/2007 for red-box, is for if you live in ireland or areas where normal scans are poor, that version shifts the frequency by 1mhz, so unless you live in ireland you may have trouble with that version, you need 01/06/2007 the latest stable version which works for all areas and scans really nice. and has been reported to solve problems like yours.
ok, are you getting any channels at all? , what area you from?, somone might have a channel data file for you. try the latest firmware anyway 01-06-2007 contains files for red-box & blue-box also DnUpMan & Voxer Loaders http://www.sendspace.com/file/v10zlz |

Thanks for that Racky I will try the software out tonight. I do get channels being listed when I do an auto scan. However it only scans 11 pages now instead of 35 previously. I live in the Newcastle area. Thanks for your help up to now.

Please excuse my ignorance. How do I confirm whether its a genuine box or not? If its not am I up the creek without a paddle? |

I presume you are on Telepest as per your location, if you are here is the latest channel dump file for your provider and area: telepest oct new.cdf All you need to do is load this to your box all channels and favourites are sorted. You can use voxer to sort them what ever way you like. |

Hello again Satsmo
Much appreciated response. My box is definitley OK. However I tried to load the Oct file on to my box without success. I noticed its a cdf file. Do I need to change file type to load to box? |

No you do not need to change the filename as .cdf is the required file type for a Eurovox, this is a Telepest channel dump for you area, for which I presume is your provider.
Are you using voxer or dnupman to select the cdf and download it to you box. Are you using the correct null modem cable similar to this one Maplin > Serial Null Modem 9-Pin Female to 9-Pin Female or are you using a combination of a null modem cable and a USB serial port adapter. Sorry I have to leave for the evening but will check in again tomorrow. |

Thanks again for the response. I did download the file onto the box but with no luck. When I did a power scan I noticed there was no channel number at the channel box and no channels were loaded at all. After the power scan I tried the auto scan and got "no transponder to scan" error message. Also when a power scan is complete there are no mhz values or any other values in the table? Dont know were to go from here?
