Question RE: Jtag Problem

I now this will most prob get blasted but here goes.

I have built a jtag according to instructions from FTA Downloads (Build A Jtag).

I have OCD Commander ..

I have soldered the wires into the correct postions in the box (pace 4000).

I followed the instructions to the letter.

I have an error "Error Response from INITIALIZE: 0x03 Initialize_target : cable disconencted (10 : 03)"

I have searched the forums and made sure I have the mac_mot running (which it is).

I am still getting the same error.
I have tried BKE 2.2 and I get a "Target Communications Error: PC to Target Cable Disconnected"

I have re-read the instructions to the point where I was seeing 3 copies at once (scary when wearing glasses).

I hope someone can tell me where I have gone wrong.

I hope this is an easy fix.

Now i'm really FED up.

I've re-built the unit (following the directions as before)

and it still dosn't work .....

I'm starting to think I can no longer make simple circuits.

This is really a pain in the rear end.

I'm using the jtag_tut from FTA Downloads.

I've tried making a temp pogo as I cant get hold of pogo near me (as the postal strikes have buggered up the mail i'm not buying from online sources until its all sorted. We've got illegal strikes in my area).

I've tried soldering to the box.

From the info I have all I have to do is power up the pace 4000 and wait till it say's NLT on it and then hit the return key on the comp.

If i'm doing anything wrong please tell me.

Looking at the various jtag pictures from the net and the one I'm making my instructions seem to be missing 6 resisters somewhere. Could be me or the info from FTA downloads is incorrect (I doubt but things like that do happen.)

If i have to goto debug mode how cos I can get engineers menu but thats all.
Box model No: Di4000-N

Exclamation Re: Jtag Problem

I think i've found out whats wrong.

The jtag tut seems to be incorrect (in a big way)

I've looked at the jtag on Tailor-made circuits (Tailor-Made Circuits)

That looks completely different to waht I made.

If some1 coulds check the FTA downloads Tut_Jtag and tell me if thats why it's not working.

If the tut is incorrect then please can some1 arrange for it's removal.

Many thanks

Has anyone checked this because I am having the same problem. I have completely rebuilt the jtag and have traced all connection right through into the 2100C circuit board components.

I've brought a Jtag and yes the 2 are totally different.

I'm trying to workout how to draw a decent one so I can be replaced.
