My computer has been working good for who knows how long. For the last few months it has been giviing me trouble with the USB ports. The first issue has actually been a problem since I got it. It seems that only one of the USB ports, out of four, seems to work. The rest are like dead. As long as I had one working I guess I was okay with it. Then it started to act funny. Every time I plug something into the usb port my PC freezes. The only way I can get it to function without freezing is to plug whatever it is when the PC is first booting up. Once windows starts loading it is too late. So every time I'm finished with the USB port and want to plu something else in I have to restart the PC. One of my phones can't establish a connection even when I plug it in when the PC is booting. It connects but when I get into the software it starts to connect and the freezes everything. I 'm getting tired of having to manually reboot it everytime it freezes. I would appreciate any advice, Thank you

Go into the BIOS and disable USB 2.0 and test if they work then a friend had the same problem its not the best fix but its just for troubleshooting.

Hi,
In my experience (adding usb cards to existing setup that has usb ports) it always comes down to the drivers. If you go into hardware setup (via control panel - system) and remove all usb drivers from the setup and then refresh and reload the driver disks it hopefully might cure your problem. Since usb's are meant to be hotwired your problem should not be happening. Are you using the correct drivers? If you want more precise instruction on removing and reinstalling drivers let me know.
