Just to let you all know that there's a chance I'm going to move Techwatch to a new server on Sunday.

As some of you have noticed, sometimes the connection here seems to lag badly or time out.

So earlier today I order a pretty powerful server - Intel quadcore processors with 4 GB of RAM and SCSI with RAID 1 to help minimum data loss.

I'm hoping Techwatch is going to be one of the sites to go on there as we're growing big and about to grow even bigger (more on that later!), so hopefully by moving the site to the powerful new server sooner rather than later, there will be less long-term disruption.

I figure the site may be down a couple of hours on Sunday, partly for the database download/upload, but also for DNS updates - I'll make the edits to the TTL values on this server so hopefully it'll be a very fast switchover.

Anyway, just a heads up.

I'm sure it will go smooth Brian, and we all appreciate the hard work you do for this great Forum, and a bit of down time is no problem as TechWatch grows
