hi guys
this sounds a strange problem to me...........maybe to you too. My redbox is about 6 months old. As soon as I got it, I ran into problems. The problem is that the TV switches itself off (or actually goes into standby) when I watch the eurovox. After a lot of examination, I have narrowed the main culprits to the Bravo channels. If I try to watch any of them, the tv goes into standby. It may happen straightaway, or may take a few minutes, but it switches off. I can watch the Bravos through my DVD as if I was recording it, but obviously that's not a solution. I can watch them also in the window when browsing favourites. Initially, I thought it was random channels that did it, but after a lot of testing, the ones that always did it were Bravo, +1 and 2, although I thought other channels occasionally did it also. Has anyone come across this before? I thought that maybe some sort of signal linkage was tripping the standby and made some changes to the Eurovox output channels, which seemed to have stopped it on all other channels. It doesn't matter if the box and tv are hot or cold. I've proved this by watching the vox for a while, and as soon as I put it on Bravo, the tv goes off. I then watched the channel via the DVD, for a long time (30+ mins) with no problems, then as soon as I start to watch normally, off it goes again. Anyone got any ideas? The tv is about 5 years old and is Mitsubishi Black Diamond, and output is via scart, with the provider being Virginmedia. |

Thanks for your comments stevo, it is connected via scart, and as far as I know, they are standard scart leads.
What effect do you (or others) think removing pin 8 will make? |
