Default PC not booting up

I had to pull my second hard drive out, and since I've done this the pc won't boot up. I can go into the bios and it doeson't recognise any IDE devices. I have tried disconnecting every IDE drive except the main hard drive and it still doeson't recognise it. It goes through the ram test fine and just hangs on the pentium 4 screen. I have tried resetting the cmos and disconnecting the battery for a few hours but still no luck. Help please!!!

Sounds like you might have knocked something loose. Have you checked that everything is secured properly?

Hi cjay

Please check all connections (this includes everything that is plugged in to the Motherboard (Ram, Graphics Card, USB Card, Sound Card etc ) and please do follow ESD precautions, did you follow ESD precautions when you was working on your Computer ?, do you hear any beeps when booting ?, and can you please post exactly the preparations you made and how you uninstalled your second HDD.

Could also be the jumper settings on your original hard drive. If its on its own make sure its set as master.

Make shore if the hard drive is on the right part of the cable and the jumper is set to master and the cable in in the mother board

if the drive you removed was at the end of the cable them move the remaining one to this position instead.

If this does not help set jumpers on all drives to CS (cable select).

Pull the dive out see if it boots with one drive and then interchange the second drive with that one. You should get system trying to boot up but get operating system not found. If this happens then drive are ok.If it does not there are a few other thing you can check
