Excuse my ignorance, but I'd love to watch the sample videos of the Pan. SD1 here, but I can't open them (yes, I can download them). I assume I need some special software to view them? Can anyone help me out?

The avchd may be the future format, but it is not at the moment as good as HDV. In the near future sd card will be able to have higher capacity wich will let increase quality as well.
diggadonkey what's the file name. m2t, mov? my suggestion, you could open it through you editing program or try "vlc player" take care! |

for a very long time, i was very convinced of getting the HDC-SD1, i love the concept. I was aware this was quite a compromise, but it had a bonus of 3CCD and being so damn innovative (H.264 HighProfile!!).
However, this week i changed my mind seeing the clips of Guy Bruner, which directly compared SD1 to HV20. the first setting of flower is not that different, but everything later give the opposite of what i was convinced of: the image of the SD1 look >very artificial<. Yes, it has less noise, but it has a "plastic look", the HV20 looks like "analoge SLR Movie": very nice balanced colors, very good detail, looks "alive". Note the SD1-colors of the flowers, i really can´t see any advantage of 3CCD in this. Here are the links: http://media.pana3ccduser.com/media/...D1_flowers.m2t http://media.pana3ccduser.com/media/..._SD1_night.m2t |
