Default Canon HV20 vs. Sony HC7

Is there an educated comparison between the low-light performance of these two cameras: canon HV20 and sony HC7?

Dmeyer you will have to wait for the HV20 to be release in the USA for a full review and a full comparison to the Sony.

Does Anyone know what the low-light performance is without putting the camera in slow speed shutter mode on the HV10 or HV20 ? Also can you view the viewfinder and the LCD screen simultaneously on the Canon HV20 or HV10 or on the Sony Hc7 ?

The comment about the frame rate may be true.. with my Canon XL H1 if you switch from 60i to 24P (F) and then select a 1/24th shutter to get the correct 'Progressive' performance .. there is at least two stops more sensitivity in low light situations.

That is one of my main deciding factors for not buying the HC-7 yet. Can't wait till someone can do a head to head review!

I have read the hV10's low light performance was lacking but also read some comments from users that it was no differrent than the hc3. What to believe makes waiting for the hv20 really hard.

Try the review at impress.co.jp. In Japanese, but there are serveral sample clips, which have been transcoded, but still tell you something. Here's the URL:

http://www.watch.impress.co.jp/av/do...7/zooma294.htm

If you download the movie ezsm4.mov (164MB), that has some low light footage at the end, and it's not very pretty.
