Is anyone aware how does the new Sony HC7 perform in low light ? Is there visible noise & grain ? Appreciate the response.

The noise can be reduced in post production. I get noise on black background when shooting indoor or night scenes. So in post production, I go into color correction mode on my PC, adjust the master curve from the default 0,0-256,256 to 12,0-256,256 to make the black darker, thus reduce the noise on black sky. Works like a charm.

I'm deciding between this and the Canon HV20. Currently, I'm a little tilted toward the Sony.

Any advice here?

Make sure you demo both cameras and get a feel for holding both the cannon and the sony. They are quite different physically. I have always had sony's and found the cannon very awkward to hold.

Default Comparison: Sony hc7 and canon VH20

Nobody in my local pro-photo-video region has held the conon vh20 yet. Is it actually available? I believe the expected ship date is April. Am I wrong? I see that the sony hc7 exists, and I am tempted to buy the sony based on the following factors:
1. larger sensor
2. equal to canon in mic inputs
3. I need it before April
Reactions?

1. Sony HC7 don't have larger sensor (hv20 - 1/2,7", hc7 - 1/2,9")
I'm also deciding between both.
