For all of you out there,
Dont catch the virus called CMOSELITIS or PIXELITIS learn to wait and read reviews. The more you wait , the more you are giving yourself time to learn about comming cams (pana , canon, jvc)

Yeah, totally.

Cuz that virus is pretty bad if you catch it- might force you to get the one and only available cure so far- the RED.

Yes, but at some point you just have to get something. I'm into waiting because the price/performance will generally improve with time. But I've been shopping long enough. I just want to be done. I wish the Canon HV20 had LANC, I wish the Sony HC7 had the Canon image and analog video in. But I've got to get something and there will never be a perfect camcorder for me.

However, I do agree, that buying on specifications alone is not the best way unless the most important thing to you is to be able to say your camera is the best because it has umpty-zillion sub-cooled quark recepters or what-not.

One has to take first in account one's specific needs;
I am myself filming among other things vocal concerts and was lucky that my HC1 SONY is very good in dealing with sound

True, looking back I wish I kept the HC1. The best cam so far out of any available. And they seem to degrade overtime, instead of improving.

Well, it's the corporate world we live in. Everybody's got to make money somehow.
