Yes, this is precisely my concern as well. I see it as yet one more hurdle in the realm of compatible editing tools. It's bad enough that there's barely anything that can edit AVCHD, and JVC proposes to thrust a prprietary form of mpg2 on the market? I'm treading cautiously until the dust settles, but so far the HV-20 seems like the only camera that can be immediately used in full scale prosumer production.
