Hi,
My two cameras VX2100 and PD150 had a CCD gone, thus making the whole picture in pink color. Since the warranty period of one year has passed Sony refused to correct that, saying it was not their fault. Upon enquiry I found many users had the same problems. Is Sony going down on quality ? Their customer support is also not that good and I feel that if this is how they go Panasonic and Canon will soon overtake them. ( they are already doing that ). Hope Sony realises that and makes out quality cams as they once did. Please give your feedback Thanks |

I don't know if this applies to the failures you have experienced, but there was a class-action lawsuit titled Bruce Chabansky v. Sony Electronics Inc., in which they described CCD imager failures. Might want to research it and see if your units were included. http://www.SonyStyle.com/ccdsettlement |

I recently replaced a complete imager (3ccd inc.prism for PD170). This cam fell and the picture turned greenish.
Point is the cost of part is unbelievably less than $100. Again its PD170 Pal and it failed after hitting the floor. PS this problem can be the cause of the image processing board. |
