Default GS500 3ccd Cam Vs Canon HV10 single Cmos?

Hi,
CAn someone post the feedback regarding camera quality of Panasonic GS500 Vs Canon Hv10. Who wins 3ccd ( SD) Vs Single Cmos (HD) ?

I would love feedback and if possible some footage comparison between the two.

Thanks
Salis

Your are comparing two very different products. While 3ccd has great color reproduction it is not at the hd resolution of the hv10. In bright light the HV10 will win out in video performance but it has very poor performance in low light while the gs500 does very well with its 1/4.7" sensors. The main question to ask is whether you want to go hd now or wait a few years down the road. If you decide on sd then the gs500 is one of the best. If you decide on hd, I am not so sure the Hv10 is such a great product unless price is the biggest factor. The hv20 is coming out soon and the hv5/hv7 are much better products then the hv10.

I'm new to camcorders as I have never had one and I found this site from a AVS post. There are so many formats out there to read about and consider that I find myself going back and forth between SD and HD. My first question is about The panasonic pvgs-300, how many lines of resolution does it display? I have a Sony A20 60" HdTV that has a native of 720p.

i had the exact same question

what really concerns me is how really noisy is the hv20 or 10 in low light situations.
I own a panasonic gs300 and it does pretty well , on a tv you won`t be able to see the grainy stuff , but on an lcd monitor you see it very well in a dark room.

I am thinkin to change to a canon hv20 but i don`t know how it does in dark.
I`ll try to download the sample.

btw i`ve watched the hd movie samples canon has on its website and they are fantastic , but it did not show anything inside , or a dark room ,everythin was shooted outside !
