Doen't look like our ol' hdv is on the list, read on:

What image formats does boujou support?

There is no preferred image format - if the images have little or no compression and the trackable detail is not obscured by motion blur or interlacing artifacts then boujou should track all formats equally well. boujou 2 and boujou bullet support the following image formats:

Windows AVI (.avi) - Appropriate codec must be installed on your machine. Not supported on Linux or OS X.
Cineon (.cin) - 30 bits per pixel format only.
JPEG ( .jpg) - Full JPEG support.
TIFF ( .tiff) - 24 or 32 bits per pixel.
SGI ( .rgb .sgi) - 8, 24 or 32 bits per pixel with or without encoding, 1 or 2 bytes per component.
TARGA (.tga) -24 or 32 bits per pixel with or without encoding.
Softimage (.pic) - 24 or 32 bits per pixel with or without encoding.
PPM (.ppm) - Full PPM support.
PGM (.pgm) - Full PGM support.
PNG (.png) Full PNG support.
Quicktime Movie ( .mov) - Full Quicktime support (read only). Not supported on Linux.

The boujou image libraries have been greatly enhanced in boujou three and bullet 2, and now include full 16 bit support and the Maya IFF, DPX and Open EXR formats. For more details please email 2d3support@2d3.com

BTW, here's the link

If you'd want to stabilize anything and you don't have Vista use VirtualDub Deshaker.

Convert to Intermediate AVI, (included with Sony Vegas, or CineForm, or GearShift - all are similar codecs used for that purpose) and use that for VD.

Just for your info, Avid Xpress Pro has a built in stabilizer with the added ability to automatically resize the video to eliminate black bars as the video is processed. I have used it many times, and it is excellent.
