Physical differences betweeen HC3 and HC7? - Techwatch: Satellite TV forums, FTA, Cable, Hardware, & Tech forums

I am leaving on a snorkeling trip in a couple of weeks and am thinking the HC7 coupled with the marine pack would be a nice set of accessories to bring along. Unfortunately the marine pack isn't listed as being compatible with the HC7. I called Sonystyle and was told by the sales rep that it should work with the HC7 if it says it will work with the HC3 because both units are identical on the exterior. Is this true? I've looked at images on the web and I can't see a difference between the two.

Can anyone out there confirm both units are identical?

Weeell,

they're not that identical. HC7 has the out ports at the bottom- raising the cam by half inch. And from what I remember- it felt a little wider in my hand than HC3.
