Hi All! First Post here - and basically a newbie in general as I am just now getting back into video.
I have never owned a sony camcorder (only JVC and Canon) but am looking at this Hc7 model. Since many of you own it, I was wondering a few things. 1. The HDMI out, will this allow uncompressed Hi-def video or is the video compressed when recorded? I ask because I may get the blackmagic intensity HDMi pci (whew) card for my macpro and it supports uncompressed video. 2. When transfering files to the computer, can one transfer them at faster than real time? or is it only real time with tapes? 3. How large are the files with it in terms of MB per second....I need to know if I can transfer the film to a single harddrive or if I need to raid some into a raid 0 array for better speed. 4. Any useful tidbits are also appreciated! Thanks |
