Oh.. you mean your HV10, worked only for 15 minutes and died without any reason? From where have you bought this? I think I read somewhere in this forum , another user also had the same expereience.
Let's wait and see, what others also say?
Thanks for your input, I had pressed the new "Thanks" button.
Great !!!

Ok i am a real owner agian after receving a replacement. and can i say the more i use this cam the better it gets. To me the footage is broadcast quality, but you must slow down all your pans and zooms and use a tripod when you can. if you have any questions on this cam i would be only to pleased to help if i can. I am sending in some footage soon. just one thing if anyone is thinking of buying one the big stores over here (UK) are ending the line of the HV10 so it wont be round for long they are getting ready for the HV20.

Hi,

I've been an owner of an HV10 for almost 5 months now. Used it quite extensively shooting family gatherings and lately a family trip to HK, Singapore & Thailand. It's a really good camera with some irritating flaws.

Main Pros:
1) Small size and lightweight - can be carried anywhere!
2) Superb video quality (unless you're in low-light condition).
3) Can use standard MiniDV tapes.

Main Cons:
1) Microphone reception level and location on camera body.
2) Low-light performance: But that only if you're in REAL low light conditions.
3) Supplied battery has short life.

I've bought a 3000mAh 3rd party battery in Singapore and now I can shoot for 2-3 hours with both batteries.

Regards,

Chipopo

Anybody have any regrets with the hv10 and wants the hv20 instead? Its a tough choice with the shoe port and external mic options

Well , I'm actually got HV10, switched to HV20, and switched back to HV10!
I use mine as a deck for Z1/A1 and as a vacation camera, and the quality difference (there is a difference in PQ) to me is less important than size and convinience of HV10. It's really awesome litlle cam and I love it,
here is my HV10 : http://66.49.133.206/myhv.html
