Hey there,
just found a review of the new HV-20. Don't know if it was already posted or not.
It's written in japanese, so bablefish should do the job...

I downloaded all the videos.

One of them ( the large ) has great shots and shows incredible detail for such a low price camcorder.

I am eagerly waiting mine, ordered today.

I tell you what... I've been debating on what camera to get for a while. On the day I was going to purchase the HV10 after himmin and hawin over the little quirks like NO mic and no HDMI. I wished upon a lucky star that canon would just make a new model with those features. About to press BUY I decided to visit canon's website and low and behold... the HV20

I've owned 3 Canon Cameras my most recent is the 20D DSLR and canon is up there with superior quality over most of it's competitors, in my opinion.

the HV20 has it all for a low price. Yeah it's not professional grade but if you're an average to advanced user I would say this camera has the power and compatibility to make you happy.

Default HD20 video

I got the video to download and yes it looks great. I had a friend of mine view it that just bought a Sony cam SD and was amazed at the difference. Of course it was SD verses HD. I too have been using Canon cameras for awhile, current model 30D and have been very happy with the quality of the stills.
It just made sense to me to stick with Canon. I also looked at the HV10 but opted for the HV20

Is it just me, or does the focus seem soft on alot of the videos? It makes me wonder how much more critical focus becomes when working with HD.

Thanks for the link, the Canon HV20 gets more and more interesting the more I read about it (and the more I see).
