Default What should I consider in a HD camcorder

What would be some of the specs I should consider in selecting a HD camcorder...I would imagine there would be at least five or so. Are there manufacturers that are better than others?
Thanks
Jake

I appreciate that..thank you. Should I be looking at a camcorder resolution of 720p as that's what my HDTV is or does it make a difference?
Thanks
Jake

Hi Jake,

I'd decide based on budget and reviews. In addition I'd consider differences regarding features. In general I guess you can't be wrong with any of the main manufacturers.

Hi Qbert,
With more HD camcorders now in the hands of consumers I'm leaning toward their comments and opinions as their the ones in the field. Actually the Canon HV20 is the one that has my interest the most.
Thanks
Jake
