I was at B&H in New York City last week. I went to purchase the Canon XHA1. The salesman flat out told me that the price would be dropping soon. He said that I should wait to purchase it.
Any idea if this is true and, if so, when? Thanks, -Jeff |

Almost forgot, before I take the plunge, any other models I should look at? I looked at a couple of Sony's but wasn't impressed (seemed like the Canon was designed by a photographer while the Sony was designed by an electronics company).

I don't know. Perhaps because the HV20 is coming. That's my only theory.
Of course, I'm still trying to convince myself to buy this camera. I am more a still photography kind of guy. Still, I have two small children and need video. I'm not happy with SD. I know this is overkill, but still I'm afraid that if I buy anything else I will be disappointed. So, any chance to get a cheaper, I'm willing to wait a couple weeks. |

I think we all know by know that there are real-world user consultants and electronics engineers that work together to create cameras for all the major manufactures. |
