Expresscameras.com selling HV10 for just 499$ with free shipping. Is it true? Any expereince on these online vendor?

that is a crazy price

does anyone know if there are any disadvantages to owning a US model compared to a UK model?

yeah, price is so delicious. In EBay average price fo HV10 is about 800$. How could it be?

Huge ones. You may not be able to show your footage on many PAL TVs; you'll have problems mixing with any SD PAL footage, you'll lose even more resolution than necessary if you have to burn an SD NTSC DVD vs PAL (480 lines vs 576). The PAL 25fps will be very convenient to work with, unless you never share your footage with anyone else, or mix with any other camera.

You'll also lose out if you ever plan to do any semi-pro work using your camera working for anyone else -- editors just won't want to deal with your footage.

The only downside to PAL is the premium you'll pay, Canons especially. I'm waiting on the HV20 to arrive here in Australia. It's yet to be officially announced(!), but the word from the Canon rep is that it's definitely coming soon.

omfg...they have the canon xh-a1 for only $1,549 BRAND NEW!!!! is this possible? is this a joke?? and it comes with a lot of free extras

nevermind, i just when to 3 different sites with pages upon pages of people saying how crooked they are. i guess i was excited right after being turned down for b&h just a few hours ago...and i dont understand. i have good credit....sigh...
