I'm putting my money on the Canon purely for their history of top performance.

It stinks that canon is going to give us an external mic input again.

Well I am awaiting the delivery of two Canon TX1's (don't ask, long story) so I'll see - I assume you mean Canon isn't going to come with an external mic input (at least I couldn't see one in the previews)

Both are toys but after seeing lots of HD2 & TX1 samples, TX1 wins hands down.... why you might ask..... HD2 in bright sunlight produces blown highlights all the time, TX1 does a much better job.

BUT, TX1 requirements on memory... is insane to the point of being useless..... so if you need 720p video that is somewhat ok, HD2 is probably better for you.

But hold isnt the TX1 a non-HD camcorder how does it manage to beat the footage from the HD2 in means of video performance. I was about to buy an HD2 but this might change my mind. Please tell me why this is the case that the canon is better than the HD2.

don, I've just replied on a hd7 post that specifications is not everything (hd2 has a big sensor i think)
However I doubt that TX1 would beat video outcome of HD2 ( unless proved )
