After having watched all the SD1 and SR1 footage available on the net (i guess), I have the impression that the video quality (in terms of resolution and artefacts) of the Sony is slightly better, but the low light performance of the Panasonic is much better. What a pitty. I would be ready to buy the Panasonic now, but this bugs me. Comparing the video quality of the SR1 with other Sony cams like HC3 (http://www.fxsupport.de/11.html), I found no big differences, even if 15MBit/s (AVCHD) is lower than 25 (HDV), which proves to me that MPEG4 is the much more efficient algorithm. But I would be disappointed if the video quality of the Panasonic would be lower than the video quality of the Sony SR1.
Any other thoughts about this?
Has anyone seen a direct comparison of the video quality of SD1 and SR1, like the comparision of SR1 and HC3 on www.fxsupport.de?
I would be glad to get your feedback.
If you already own a Panasonic HDC-SD1, please upload some more footage, this would already help a lot.

I read in many forum that SD1 is better than SR1.
When the SDHC is full you can use another, in a few time you will have 16GB SDHC...
With SR1 you must have with you a portable pc to download recordered video!
