Rsen,
Regrading the .mt2 files; I used Vegas 7 to import the video directly from the camera and I am able to edit them in Vegas. I am having a hard time exporting them to Quicktime right now and I am notsure why. When I try to export them the files are larger then the original, like 20 times larger? Strange, I know it is just a setting that i am missing. I will mess around with it some more and get the proper settings and upload a compressed, edited clip so people can see it. Jae |

![]() Have you shot any low-light footage in 24p Mode? I've seen YouTube clips and the video seems to look fairly smooth. What are your thoughts on this? And have you used a lamp? If so which one? Thanks! |

There is a review done by camcorderinfo.com and they tell how good it is hv20 in low light conditions, thanks to the 24p. My question is... would it work as well in the european model? Here we will get 25p. ok thank you!

[quote=jaelupo;1211]OK, I just got my HV20 a few hours ago and I thought I would show everyone some pictures of it and my first impressions. The camera is lighter then in looks that's good and bad. It feels a little cheap and hollow and I wish they used more metal parts like their digital cameras but it fits my hand like a glove. The zoom toggle switch is kind of strange Canon can certainly improve on this. OK, enough of the bad, the good news is the picture is amazing! The low light is better then my Panasonic GS200 3CCD Standard Def camera. Know one will be let down by the image quality of this camera. Enjoy the pictures below and stop by the Video download section for some of my first videos with this amazing camera. If anyone has a specific request for Videos or stills of this camera please respond to this post and I will get them for you.
Jae Thanks for posting your videos Jae there great, it's nice to get real world footage from people who have the HV20. What do you think of shooting footage in low light? Is there any editing that can be done on the camera? Do you think the camera is rugged enough to be taken in the field...I live in the desert in Arizona so I would be in some harsh elements...mainly heat in the summer. Great footage keep filmimg. Jae I have a request Jae, without using a tripod could you film some footage of vehicle traffic traveling into your viewing angle while holding the HV20 steady like you would a still camera..safely please. I would very interested in seeing how that turns out. My application for filming would be for motorcycle racing. Thanks Jae Jake |

Jake,
To answer your question on Low light; I would conceder low light to be anything after sunset with moonlight or street lights. Inside I would say just about anything using normal lights in your house. Most footage shot indoors doesn't come out well on camcorders unless you have extra lights on or lots of windows with sunlight. Regarding your question about how the HV20 would hold up in extreme condition; I would say it would hold up the same as any other camcorder. I always buy a protective lens that is clear and screws over the original one. This will keep the original lens scratch free. If you are really worried about the camera you can build a Plexiglas box to put the camera in to protect it. Regarding your traffic footage sample; I will try and shoot some in the next few days and upload it to Listvideo.com Jae |
