All the SD1 footage I've downloaded (brightly lit ones) shows a much higher picture quality than CamcorderInfo's review...

Its actually for the DX1, which is the DVD version of the SD1, essentially the same camera.

Overall i think that the panasonic SD1 is totally overpriced for the features and the quality it delivers. Even though it generates decent HD footage it lacks main features like an eye-lid viewfinder and is built into a cheap feeling plastic body which gives it the feel of a toy rather than a prosumer camcorder.

canon HV20 which is a better solution does look cheap plastic too but seems to make great videos
