hello,
what do you think happens if you film in 60i-mode with 1/30 shutter speed? Two fields take place in the time of one shutter, this would suggest, that the two fields are actually the two corresponding parts of the same image. This would mean by simple blend/combine-field deinterlacing, you should get an >effective 30p< movie. Only drawback is the necessity of long shutter speed. This could possibly work with 1/50 too. Could please someone make an easy test: film in a rather low light environment at two shutter speeds : 1/30 and 1/50. Do the identical shoot, to make the two comparable, i.e. regarding motion blur or fluidity. i would love to do it myself, but unfortunately in Europe they are still not arrived in stocks... thanks a lot for helping - 30p would be great! |

Robin posted a comparison between 60i and 24p. 60i happened to be filmed at 1/30 shutter.
if you look at the left side, it does not show any interlacing artefacts in the moving parts. This seems one to confirm it. I asked him, if he deinterlaced it before posting, he said no. He will send me the original 60i 1/30 file, so i can test if his adobe NLE did it without asking. |

Hey my dear monologue...
i just wanted to tell you, that 30p seems to work indeed. look at the clip in here: http://www.hv20.com/showthread.php?p=496 there you will see very clear, that 60i with 1/30 does not show any interlacing, while 60i with 1/60 shows very obvious interlacing in the moving parts. bye, bye monologue |
