Is it possible to record at 720p with the Canon HV20?

I just wondered if it was an option coverting the 1080i footage would not be as good as straight 720p would it?

p=progressive scan
i=interlaced. Basically progresive scan is non-interlaced. With interlaced alternate lines are scanned every frame, the gaps are filled in on the next frame. |
