Default Canon HV20 for fast moving objects????

How is the HV20 for filming rc cars that go about 50 to 80 mph, I already tested the shoot out on a Sony HC3 and footage was great..
But I took the HC3 back yesterday so that I could replace it with
either the HV20 or or Panasonic HDC-SD1. So far I have seen the footage from the HV20 and I'm impress, but I haven't see how it can handle some fast small moving objects...

Thanks;
Andre

High def is always a bit sensitive to enterlacing artefact with fast moving objects or panning
Keep in standard shooting mode and its upon reading (VLC FREE SOFTWARE) that you can tune to smoothing movement artefacts

I had the Sony HC3 a few days ago because I was able to pick it up for $600
but I tested the shoot out on some fast moving rc cars with no artifacts or at least I didn't notice any artifacts, but I mainly took the camera back because of all the talk I heard about the HV20, and also because of HV20 extra features such as the mic. port etc...

Thanks;
Andre

If you liked HC3 footage on fast moving objects then I have no doubt that you ll love HV20 in same conditions

I did some tests today with the XH A1 and the HV20 . rotating wind generators..you know the huge ones .. several in shot .. the thing to watch out for is the auto shutter speed which will make fast motion 'strobe' and look artificial. To lose the interlace jaggies, shoot in 25 fps progressive.. then you get filmlike blur on movement. However, on my 40" 1920 x 1080 Samsung with the hdmi connector at pixel to pixel mapping... the stuff from the HV-20 is sharper than similar shot on the HC3.
If you are actually not needing HD output, you can shoot in DV mode and not have any of the artifact problems from the HDV encode of fast motion ... albeit those artifacts usually go away in downsampling anyway.
Regarding motion handling.. the HV-20 and the XH A1 seem to handle about the same in the same mode and shutter speed. HDV's long GOP codec is likely to degrade small object fast motion more than any attribute of the camera. IMHO the Canon implementation of the HDV codec seems just a little more competent in handling motion ... on reasonale sized objects..like people.

V Best wishes

I don't think it's good for fast moving objects
