red box not finding transponders?

hi , i have a red box which lost all but one transponders , i have tried a powerscan and level and quality are at 98% , its moving up the frequencies one at a time but not finding any transponders , i have put a cdf file on from my other red box , then the menu shows all the transponders and a full list of channels but it says no signal. its not the ntl cable because my other red box works fine when i plug it in same lead. please help thanks

I had the same problem. First thing is what is your level of software? I found that once I changed the software and did a fresh powerscan then that solved the problem. Also try changing the settings. Originally I scanned using 6.887 and not 6.952. When I changed the scan settings bingo. I suppose it was trial and error but the people on here were great for advice. Hope this helps.

At 98% your signal levels are way too high. You need to drop them a bit,best solution is to get an attenuator for a quid, something similar to one here http://www.beststuff.co.uk/coaxial_accessories.htm that should solve the problem. Go for the 6 Db one.

its not only not finding transponders . the screen has gone green and i cant get it off . could this be due to the signal strength being too strong. thanks for your help

ok have got green screen off , it was my fault i had scart leads mixed up , if the signal is too strong will this stop it finding transponders? i have sent for an attenuator and will let you know how i go on . thanks for all your help
