My Mother-n-law is having the exact same problem! It only happened yesterday tho, I'm still searching for an answer too!... Have you tryed unplugging it & leaving it for a few minutes then plugging it back in again, it seems to help some people, worth a try!

Did you try the factory reset - that's essential after a firmware upgrade and would cause the problems you mention.
