A new "Beta" firmware has been released . I have not tested it yet but it is as claimed a long awaited fix for the widescreen issue and has a signal booster option. Please use at your own discretion and please post comments here.

1) WIDESCREEN

Go To MENU / Config / TV Setting

Options Available:

16:9 True Widescreen

4:3 Centre / Letterbox / Full

2) SIGNAL BOOSTER

If you live in a low signal area and have weak signal problems when scanning or picture breaks up when watching.

Go to Menu /Config / Settings / Last option

Default Settings Off

Switch On/ Save & Exit

NAME: KURO_BETA_WS_SB
RELEASE DATE: 24/10/2007
TYPE: BETA
FEATRURES:
1) Full Widescreen Support
2) Signal Booster Option

IMPORTANT INSTALLION INSTRUCTIONS:
If you are flashing Brand New box i.e. with no software currently loaded then flash as normal.

If you are upgrading your box i.e. it already has software on the box please follow this instructions.
After flashing box as normal,
Save Your Channel Data File by Using the Software to Upload Channel Data From Box To Your Desktop PC.
Then Go To
MENU
CONFIG
CLEAR DATA
TYPE IN YOUR PIN
CHOOSE 2ND OPTION (FACTORY DEFAULT)
SELECT YOUR SYMBOL RATE
RESCAN BOX or DOWNLOAD YOUR CHANNEL DATA FILE FOR DESKTOP PC

YOU MUST DO A FACTORY DEFAULT:
FAILURE TO FOLLOW THE ABOVE PROCEDURE WILL CAUSE THE SOFTWARE ON THE BOX TO CRASH
& RESET EVERY TIME YOU SELECT THE TV SETTINS MENU.

BETA RELEASE ONLY

I have sent the firmware to Lincsat for him to put it in the download section if he feels it is OK to do so.

just installed this s/w when you go into the tv settings the box reboots but has sorted the standby issue

cant get into tv settings m8 just reboots the box still trying you can see for about 5 sec then shuts down there is new stuff in there

caution watch this box has frozen. had to take power cable out all back on tv settings is doing this i will leave box on stay out of tv setting and post later stanby issue in fixed for me happy enough just leaving it like this for a few ours to see if there is any channel brake up

can you give us a few more details please mate like did you follow the instructions in the first post and are you able to flash back to your origanal sept update?

As said it is Beta but did you follow the exact instructions as above. As in was your box already flashed or not?
