hi all,
i have a db 7020 thats been in it's box since i got it about a year ago i have now decided to have ago at setting it up, i have a thompson 585 modem which is connected to the only ethernet port on my computer and i want to connect from one of the ports on the modem to the receiver can you advise which cable do i need to connect from my modem to a db 7020 is it a straight or crossover cable. then i can load a image on the box etc: and i hope i can come back with more questions if and when i get myself into a corner with this box also do i need a null modem cable with this receiver? |

You really need to check your router for the cable type. My D-Link router allows either straight or X-over cable. I think the normal for non-auto MDI/MDIX ports is a straight cable.
You may at some stage need a null modem cable if you ever lose the Dreambox IP setting. However, the 7020 is less likely to need one because it auto locates the address. |
