Default Warning - Fake Dreambox DM500!

From the Dream Multimedia website:

"We like to inform all our customers and dealers that there are illegal copies of the Dreambox DM 500 on offer.
It seems to be an authentic but cheap reproduction of the device.
Alone the remote control is different from the original

Major differences to be found in the quality of used material and the workmanship.
The duplicates are poorly coated and badly processed. An older release of the DM 500 has been copied and this illegal DM500 version is not CE certified.

The name “Dreambox” is a registered trade mark and may be used solely by Dream-Multimedia.
We do not issue a guarantee nor shall be liable for any damages caused by our original software to these faked items.

We will take legal action against the manufacturers, distributors, and providers of the Dreambox-copies"

More information, including how to tell the difference:

The Dreambox 500 that is selling on eBay from China for £59.00 are confirmed as fake. One guy has had his confiscated by customs. >

I had a funny feeling a Dreambox for under £60 would be to good to be true

What is he using a booster for? If you are not getting a good signal then all a booster will do is to make the signal worse if anything, it certainly can't improve it. I cannot understand why your fake should have a better tuner than an original. Anyway your box was not all that cheap, if you Google dreambox 500s you will see what they cost, the fake ones that is, there are loads of them from China.

Very best regards Wez
