Well, we didn't have the usual flurry of rumour followed by package hacking this Christmas (as has become a bit of a tradition!) but it looks like the backroom boys were just finalising their testing...
The rumour-mill is in full flow across Europe suggesting that a plethora of packages have been prised open for 2006. The new generation Titanium/Titancard (and/or perhaps a brand new card) are looking to be very expensive. That plus one or two other rumblings had led many to believe that Sky UK and Sky Italia may both be viewed with it. Watch this space. If true, there will be a massive backlash from Uncle Rupert. Talking of a backlash, it also appears that it works two ways. Further rumours indicate that as a direct result of actions taken by Premiere in Germany, developers have chosen to publish the relevant source code, releasing into the public domain the ability to open the German package previously only available on the Cerebro card. Just to round things off, very strong rumours have it that Nagra 2 is again open on both 19.2E and 30W as they indeed were in the latter part of 2005. It's certainly a very interesting time!!! Let's wait and see what actually materialises.
