Yeah, that sounds pretty good. You can get one of the later 'Super' models with £100, which (unless you're being sold old stock) should be what's on the shelf right now, so ask if it's not clear.

I think that there were just general enhancements on the Super, nothing special AFAIK. Check Technomate's website for details.

They go for that on eBay with a patch lead, if you're the eBay type

The latest patch for the TM1xxx series currently opens Digital + on 30W, including the 3 Deporte Sports channels, showing Premiership footy.

Yeah ebay was where I was looking - something like this:

Does that look like a "super" model?

Cheers.

Thanks again.

I think I will get it!

My dishes are a few years old, so I guess I need to buy digital LNB's right? is there anything I need to consider when I am buying them?

Also as implied I have 2 dishes, but I want to worry about getting just one up and running first. It is ok for me to consider the switch thing that lets me put both in one receiver later right?

Yes - and thats a good plan. You will learn a lot, and if theres a problem later you will be able to narrow down where the problem is likely to lie. A couple of new universal LNB's will do you fine, my preference is for MTI's, although almost any will do in the uk where signal strengths are high.

Hi!

Does this look alright to you for what I need?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/MTI-Blue-Line-...QQcmdZViewItem

Thanks for your opinion.

One other thing, just for my information... if you have analogue LNB, could you still pick up analogue channels with a digital receiver? In other words, when my digital receiver comes, will I still be able to view anologue channels, before I install my new digital LNBs? What about after I install the digital LNBs, would I still be able to get a analogue channels if I wanted?

Thank you,

Yes m8, that LNB is fine and a good choice.

The 0.2dB noise figure is misleading, as it's going to be more like 0.3dB (manufacturers are a bit naughty when advertising noise figures) but that's perfectly OK. Even a 0.6dB figure is OK.

No, I'm afraid you cannot watch analogue signals on a digital receiver. There are one or two dual receivers like the Echostar AD-3000 IP, but it's not really worth going to the effort and expense of incorporating analogue into your new box. The good news is that the new digital LNB will still work on your old analogue box, so that's the way to do it.

There is something called a priority switch which will enable you to run both boxes at the same time.
