Hi,
I would like to know why the str5010 teleka reciever I recently installed will not pick up ITV 2 . All other channels BBC 1,2,3,4 and ITV 1,3 . The signal quality is at 50-51%. Satitude |

Hi there!
![]() Thanks for your post. OK, you should be able to receive ITV2 in the UK, as it's Free To Air (FTA). If you look at the stats over at Lyngsat, it shows what's FTA: www.lyngsat.com/packages/skyuk.html You don't mention if you can receive ITV4, but my guess is not. I say that because they're on the same transponder. My guess would be that as you can see other channels on the Astra 2D footprint shown here: www.ses-astra.com/corpSite/siteSections/ASTRAFleet/footprint/0_astra_2D_H.jpg ...you probably don't have that transponder listed in your receiver. I don't know your receiver, but you need to work your way through the menu system until you find a list of transponders and add the (hopefully) missing one in. The details you require are: Frequency: 10758 Polarity: Vertical Symbol Rate (SR): 22000 Forward Error Correction (FEC): 5/6 You'll then need to re-scan that transponder (or the whole satellite) and be able to get ITV2, ITV4 and some other ITV regional variations, as per Lyngsat. Now this is just a guess on my part, so let us know how it goes, or if you have any other information. If you already have the transponder listed, and the channels are listed too (do you also have ITV4 listed?) then you might be experiencing some interference. Do you have any other wireless devices nearby? Cordless phone? Live on top of a transmitter of some sort? Try moving everything 50 feet away, or turn if off to test while you rescan the transponder. Regards, SH |

As I say, I don't know your receiver, so you'll have to refer to the manual, or play with the remote for a while.
Your location could very well explain your problem, but that could be overcome with a larger dish if you really wanted these channels. I'm guessing that a 90cm would do it, although I will check it out properly if you were interested. Eliminate the above potential problems first though. SH |

Actually, looking at the 2D footprint alone a 70cm dish is more than enough.
Your signal quality figures don't sound good though, so maybe your existing dish is pooly aligned? What signal strrength are you getting? What dish do you have? How big? How old? |

Hello SH,
Yes , I have used the settings and now I can recieve Itv 2 and Itv 4 , perfect. I know I probably will annoy you. Is there any channel like channel 4 or others that I could be getting by changing to other transponders. Thanks alot for your wise words. Satitude. |

Fantastic!
![]() Unfortunately Channel 4 is not free to air, nor is 'Five'. They are 'Free To View', which means that they are encrypted and you have to have a card. Yeah, I know it's crazy, but it's true. The card costs £20 one-off payment, but you would need a Sky digibox to put it in, or something called a Dragon CAM. Any of the white channels on the Lyngsat you should be able to get. Have a look and get the figures you need from there. Glad to help. ![]() |
